GWO Advanced Rescue Training Refresher (ARTR)

In addition to rescue teams, it's essential to highlight that wind turbines (WTGs) are frequently situated in remote areas. Possessing the skills to be self-reliant when the nearest medical or emergency responders are at a significant distance becomes a near necessity for anyone working on WTGs.

Participants will navigate through a series of learning activities that mitigate common WTG emergency rescue-related hazards, such as:

Theory/Written Assessment, which may include Short Answer Questions, Multiple Choice, and Verbal Questioning Interviews; and Direct Observation/Practical Assessment, which may occur in the workplace, simulated environments, or through role play/scenario exercises.

Upon successful completion, participants will acquire knowledge in legislative requirements, hazards & risks, emergency planning, casualty management, incident response, and advanced rescue equipment usage.

Skills development includes managing an incident scene, using rescue devices, safe stretcher rigging and handling, and executing various wind turbine rescue procedures.

Also, participants will be awarded GWO certification Advanced Rescue Training, with results duly recorded on the GWO global database (WINDA).

Completion of the course will also bring nationally recognised ‘Units of Competency’.

Participants will be supplied with basic PPE and basic stationary. (If you wish to use your own PPE that is accepted)

Complaints should be made within one week of completing a course. Where possible, Urban Abseiler will address complaints informally and may do so over the telephone. In such cases, it will confirm in an email the action it will take. Sometimes a more formal approach is necessary, and in these instances, the complaint must be submitted in writing. The complaint should outline the reason and expectations of the outcome as succinctly as possible and must be emailed to info@urbanabseiler.com.au. If additional supporting documentation is needed, it will be requested at the appropriate time.

Complaints are acknowledged within 5 working days of receiving any written complaint. Urban Abseiler management will endeavour to complete any complaints investigation within 1 month of the initial written complaint. Complainants will be kept informed during this period and will be notified of the outcome. • If a complaint is upheld, Urban Abseiler will advise of the actions it proposes to take. • If a complaint is not upheld, Urban Abseiler will explain why.
