This course applies to individuals who may be required to conduct local risk controls in the resources and infrastructure industries. The conduct local risk control unit equips participants with the knowledge and skills to safely identify hazards; assess risks and identify unacceptable risk; identify, assess and implement risk treatments, and complete records and reports.

The skills in this course are applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
The following units will be included in your certificate:
Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course including the ability to read and interpret work health and safety (WHS) policies and procedures, legislation, regulations, documentation and work requirements; speak clearly and concisely with the team/ work group to identify unacceptable risk and determine, select and implement risk controls as well as calculate resource requirements including basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Basic computer skills to complete workplace forms and reports.
- The ability to monitor and minimise own exposure to worksite risks and hazards during activities
* An individual undertaking this course with Allens Training Pty Ltd will need to demonstrate the above requirements to be eligible for entry.
* This certificate does not require renewal.
The student must complete all documentation according to the required standard:
A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions. The student must successfully complete all assessment questions.
